1 Folly Cottages is a charming period semi-detached home dating from the early 1800’s and set in a peaceful, rural setting, yet conveniently close to everyday facilities, transport links and schools. The interior retains a wealth of character features including a cosy sitting room with a wood-burning stove, a recent refurbished galleried kitchen and a spacious dining hall. The ground floor also benefits from a downstairs WC and a cellar space. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, one with useful built in storage, and a well-appointed family bathroom.
The property was refurbished by the present owners in 2023 including kitchen, bathroom and WC upgrades plus new carpet and laminate flooring and double glazing. The present vendors had an ASHP installed in 2021 which qualifies for quarterly RHI payments until November 2028.
A planning application for a double storey extension on the roadside of the property was granted to the present owners in April 2021 (21/00482/HSE) but has now lapsed. Any future extensions to the property would be subject to planning permission.
