Later in its history it was an alehouse called The Gray’s Arms, implicated in legends of smuggling from Port Quin, but it was still owned by the church when sold in 1967 to the family who is selling the property now.<br/>The historic aspects of the house remain largely intact: massively thick stone walls, Delabole slate roof and flagstone floors, beamed ceilings, quirkily placed windows, a wide chimney breast, and ancient stone outhouses, set in a level garden. <br/>In the 1970s the single storey, attached, stone barn was converted to be the kitchen, which it still is, with space for a large central table, fitted units and a recently converted electric Aga. It is entered from the front through a glazed porch and a stable door opens to the rear garden. <br/>The sitting room has all the homely features one would expect in such an old house, as listed above, and is dual aspect to the west and the east gardens with wide window seats to enjoy the views.
