It was the attractive, part barn-style exterior of the property on School Lane that first caught the attention of the owners of the recently built Hartwell home some 14 years ago. The combination of the red brick of the main house and the traditional, rural-look weatherboard of the wing offered a charming and unique appeal. “It was very different to anything else we had ever seen,” one of them explains. “We also liked the house because it was a very good size. We had two older sons and a younger daughter at the time and this was a family home that offered us plenty of space for both family life and entertaining.” The location was also perfect, she recalls. “Hartwell is a nice, quiet village, which is well located for both Milton Keynes and Northampton. It is also close to Salcey Forest, which is ideal if you have children and dogs.”
